More Jon & Kate
Alright… so I think I have to recant my statement yesterday about feeling like Kate and I would be friends if we were neighbors… After reading some things today, I’m saying “ya, probably not..”. I will say this much… I understand that they wanted to provide for their family, and in the beginning it was 8 episodes – not a ton of filming… In a way they were kind of like a video blog – a way to keep track of some fun family memories and make a little money on the side to help raise their family. I can also understand the excitement when it turned bigger. I am sure the money was enticing and it probably seemed like a good idea at the time. I also can still relate to Kate sometimes when it comes to parenting and relating to her husband… I know, sorry, but I just can.
I had heard that Kate was distanced from her family (as a side note, I believe her dad is a pastor…) and I never really understood why… Well, if you have been a viewer for a long time you will remember Aunt Jodi who used to be a part of the shows and then all of the sudden disappeared. Well, I came across Aunt Jodi’s sister’s blog today. This post says a lot… And then when I watched this and heard that the vow renewal was just for ratings… I was really sad. It seems Kate is on a mission now and she is willing to cut people out of her life one at a time to make it happen. Obviously Jon was standing in the way of the show so she is ready to cut him out now… I still stand on the grounds that in any marriage it takes two…. But the sad fact of the matter is that pretty soon she is probably going to be left with nothing – no show, a destroyed marriage, damaged kids, and probably a pretty sad life. It all is just really sad.

In a lot of ways I feel sorry for Kate. She was a normal Mom that was incredibly overwhelmed by having 6 babies at once and then boom, hit show. Money is the great tempter and I think she fell into the trap. Pray that God softens her heart and she changes her way before its too late.
