Do You Use Coupons? Here’s My Method

So the debate is out there… do you use coupons or not?  Some say using coupons causes them to spend more money, because they end up buying things they wouldn’t normally buy.  Others are coupon-aholics.  Where do you fall?

Here’s what I do…

I’m a member of The Grocery Game – LOVE LOVE LOVE it! You sign-up by store – so say CVS, Walgreens, & Meijer are my memberships – each town has their own store options. (by the way if you sign-up, I would love if you use my email as a referral – christine@dinewithoutwhine.com)  Anyway, then they tell you what is on sale that week, and what coupons to put with it to make it even cheaper.  This leaves you sometimes with items at 75-90% off, or sometimes even free!  If there is something I use.. (I don’t buy it just because it is on sale) then I will usually stock up – BIG TIME!  Why not buy 5 when they are 75% off instead of 1 when I run out and have to pay full price?   Then I don’t get a Sunday paper, so I order coupons online.  That way I can get 5 of each coupon I want (Or however many I need), instead of just having 1.  I order from a couple different places. Coupons & Forms & The Coupon Master are the main ones I use.  It is best to find a supplier that lives near you, so you can get your order rapidly – before the ad ends at the end of the week!  If you do a Google search, you can probably find many others.

So what is your method?  Coupons, or no?

Tell me about when you order the coupons please. Do you pay for these? Are they worth buying? I love to use coupons and so love making great deals, we often buy more and give it away to others in need or shelters, like toothpaste and the like.
I am going to check out the links a bit later today, hoping the NASCAR races will run today.

    Hi Lisa,
I’ll e-mail you, but in response… I do pay a small amount for them (.05 – .10 usually), but only if they are going to save me much more. I don’t pay for the Sunday paper though, so I take that into account. When I was buying a Sunday Paper, all I was using it for was coupons, so in a way I was paying for coupons then too, but I prefer this way because I can get exactly what I want in the numbers that I want.
We also will give things away when they end up being super cheap!
We’re sitting here waiting for NASCAR as well… (Well hubby is… I usually work while he watches, but catch the gist of it..) Have a great Sunday!

I use coupons all the time – hubby loves them, and he actually scours the countryside for any that he can use. Unfortunately, the stores here are moving away from accepting the online coupons that you print. First our local groceries (small-town), then Costco, now WalMart – I’m afraid Safeway will be next. Are you referring to these printable coupons, or something else? It’s be great if they were sending them to you directly! If so, where do I sign up?
