In case I haven’t told you before… we live in the middle of no-where!  Therefore, it is a good 20 min. trip (each way) just to Wal-Mart (not a very nice one) to grab the basics.

So when I find a website like soap.com I am in LOVE!  All the basics – plus!  (it’s not just soap…  go take a look around!)  And… they generally deliver the next day – FREE (with a $25 order)!  And even better, their prices are about the same as my local store.  The PERFECT solution for me!

If you are interested in trying them out, I have a 15% off coupon for you!

Meet Elias

Monday, December 13th, 2010

We have just added Elias to our hearts .   He lives in Tanzania and is 8 years old.  We have decided to sponsor him through Compassion.  “Sponsor” is most certainly the correct term… I used “adopt” early one morning as the boys were getting ready for school.  I was so excited to tell them that we had decided to sponsor him… but I used “adopt”.  So after I got through my spiel, Christian piped up and said “so when are we going to pick him up?!?”  And that’s when I realized “adopt” is not the correct term…  We wrote him his first letter tonight!  I encourage you to consider sponsoring a child – there are so many who need your love!  I know it is a big commitment… we thought about it for several years before we decided the time is right… but if the time is right for you – go bless a family!

Easy LunchBoxes – Free Cooler Carrying Bag

Monday, October 25th, 2010

You may remember my review from earlier this fall of EasyLunchBoxes.com .  I do still love this product after using it for a few months

I recently heard from Kelly, the owner, that they are completely sold out of their containers!  But wait!  The good news is that when the new shipment arrives in November, they will send you your order along with a FREE Cooler Carrying Bag!  (if you order before Nov. 10th!)

So if you haven’t ordered your set yet, NOW is the time!  Her products are so affordable to start with.  With the free cooler bag, you can have your entire set for only $13.95!  (That is 4 containers and a cooler bag!)  That is a steal of a deal!

Crock Pot – One of My Favorite Things

Monday, April 19th, 2010

I hope you’re having a great week!  With the weather getting nice again, we are spending more time outside.  We have a big garden to plant, our kids LOVE playing outside & the older kids are playing soccer.  This means I have less time to devote in the kitchen.  It’s this time of year I particularly enjoy my slow cooker!  It doesn’t heat up the house, it is super quick to get something going in it, and it serves me a delicious meal in the evening without much effort at all!  It’s definitely one of my favorite kitchen tools!  As I was looking at some new recipes the other night, it occurred to me that my friend Susanne, "The Hillbilly Housewife" has a wonderful e-book crock-pot collection that I return to again and again.  I wanted to share this resource with you, but first I went and twisted her arm a bit (okay, we’re friends.. we do nice things for each other once in awhile..) and asked her if she could give my customers a discount.  She responded generously!  We’re talking a NICE discount!

Until midnight on April 23rd 2010 you can get Susanne’s entire crock-pot cooking collection for 50% OFF (yes, you read that right)

Here’s where you can grab your entire crock-pot cooking system for half of what you’d usually pay for it:

Do You Use Coupons? Here’s My Method

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

So the debate is out there… do you use coupons or not?  Some say using coupons causes them to spend more money, because they end up buying things they wouldn’t normally buy.  Others are coupon-aholics.  Where do you fall?

Here’s what I do…

I’m a member of The Grocery Game – LOVE LOVE LOVE it! You sign-up by store – so say CVS, Walgreens, & Meijer are my memberships – each town has their own store options. (by the way if you sign-up, I would love if you use my email as a referral – christine@dinewithoutwhine.com)  Anyway, then they tell you what is on sale that week, and what coupons to put with it to make it even cheaper.  This leaves you sometimes with items at 75-90% off, or sometimes even free!  If there is something I use.. (I don’t buy it just because it is on sale) then I will usually stock up – BIG TIME!  Why not buy 5 when they are 75% off instead of 1 when I run out and have to pay full price?   Then I don’t get a Sunday paper, so I order coupons online.  That way I can get 5 of each coupon I want (Or however many I need), instead of just having 1.  I order from a couple different places. Coupons & Forms & The Coupon Master are the main ones I use.  It is best to find a supplier that lives near you, so you can get your order rapidly – before the ad ends at the end of the week!  If you do a Google search, you can probably find many others.

So what is your method?  Coupons, or no?

You can also pop into our community and see what others have to say!

Hoppertogs

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Hi there!  I have something fun to share today.  My mom is a wonderful seamstress, and I have been encouraging her to open an Etsy Shop to share with the world her creations.  She has been selling locally in her hometown, in one of the local businesses, but she hadn’t made her online presence yet.  Finally, last night she called me to let me know that she had opened her Etsy Shop!  YEA!  I was so excited.  So far she just has a few purses in there, (I’m sure she’ll be adding more items soon) but you have to go check them out – they are so cute!  I personally am in love with this one.  Someone better go buy it before I do!

Head on over to check out the other designs as well!  I’m sure she will appreciate having some traffic, and if you fall in love with one, I’m sure she would love a sale as well!

C-

P.S.  If you have a friend who would like these, would you please share with them as well?  I would love to see her have a great start in her new business!  http://www.etsy.com/shop/Hoppertogs
