33
I turned 33 a couple days ago – on the 9th. It was a great day! We went to church, had lunch at one of our favorite places, had a brief nap, made homemade ice-cream, and my baby girl took her first step! (which she hasn’t done since then by the way.)
However, turning 33 is also a bit bittersweet for me. You see, 33 is the age that my mom passed away due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis. I was 9 at the time. Now I find MYSELF – 33 – with my own almost nine year old (and 3 others). I now place myself in her shoes, and I can only imagine how she must have felt – knowing that she was soon leaving this earth for a much more glorious place; yet at the same time the heartbreak she must have felt leaving behind her loved ones. Truthfully, I can’t quite put my mind around it.
33 – it seems so young now.
