Baby Update

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Well, we were supposed to have a c-section this coming Monday. All was set to go! However, yesterday at my ultrasound our little sweetie decided to cooperate and she was head down! YEA! I am sooo happy! I had finally come to terms with the c-section but I was still very nervous. I like to go as naturally as possible so I wasn’t really happy about the medical intervention plan. So now we are back on track for a regular delivery. It is a bit strange to go from expecting to have a baby in 3 days to now not knowing when again, but that’s okay - I’m good with it. I’m just happy to most likely not need a c-section and I know she will arrive sometime within the next 3 weeks or so! She was already measuring approx. 7 pounds 3 oz. yesterday at 37 1/2 weeks so I am presuming my Dr. will induce around 39-40 weeks if she hasn’t come on her own. I’ll keep you updated!

It’s A Better Week

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

We survived last week and are onto a much better week now. My cold sores are just about gone, hubby’s poison ivy is still around unfortunately - he has another dr. apointment tomorrow, the kids ended up fighting off their colds and never got really sick. The baby? I have no idea what position she is in now - she is getting so big it is kind of hard to tell. I am getting most kicks up high, but that could still mean her butt is down and feet are up… or she could have flipped - I really can’t tell. I have an appointment tomorrow so maybe she will be able to tell. If not, we are most likely having this baby in a week and a half - EEK! I had moms at preschool yesterday telling me how awful c-section recovery is. UGH. Why do people tell you these things? I’m trying to relax about it here, not hear horror stories!

Anyway, all in all things are going better his week.

A couple days ago I answered 15 Menu Planning ?’s on my Menu Mom Blog, that I thought you would enjoy. You can check them out here: www.themenumom.com

Have a great week!

We’re Falling Apart

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Okay, I know things could be WAY worse, so I probably shouldn’t complain. However, I’m going to because it’s my blog and I can. LOL So here’s the scoop - first hubby comes down with this weird rash I have never seen before. He finally goes to the Dr. and it turns out it is Poison Ivy. We have never had that before, so we weren’t able to identify it at first, but it sure made him miserable! He ended up with a shot at the Dr. and then a 5 day antibiotic treatment, but he still can’t sleep very well from all the itching.

Then Saturday I ended up getting sun-burned at the football game. Sunburns in general are miserable, but I know from history that if my lips get sunburned I end up with cold sores / fever blisters almost every time. So as predicted Tuesday they started popping out and now I have 6! My bottom lip is covered and my top lip has one big one. For anyone else who gets those you know how miserable they are. All the glands in my OB appointment yesterday pleading for relief, but all she said is Carmex (which I know doesn’t work for me). So then I got home and called my dentist who had mentioned a prescription is available, but go figure it is pill form and not safe for pregnancy. So I am stuck with my Abreva and suffering through I guess. If anyone knows of good relief let me know! On top of that this little girl of mine in my belly does not care to turn head down. I go in for an ultrasound this afternoon to see exactly how she is lying and then back to the doctor on Friday to try to determine an action plan. I really want to avoid a c-section, so if you could send your prayers that she turns that would be great!

Finally, I think the boys are coming down with colds - which doesn’t surprise me - they have been in school for 3 1/2 weeks now and fall is setting in - it’s bound to happen.

So there you have it, I’m one miserable, tired, pregnant momma / business owner and yup, I’m normal just like you! :) And yes, I know these are just minor bumps in life and we could have it so much worse - we most certainly are counting our blessings as well.

Take Care!
